The company provided the services of a senior Public Works Engineer, whose main task was the co-ordination of the construction of 120 schools in the country’s interior. The Engineer supervised the construction sites, provided technical and logistical support and controlled the quality and timing of the works implemented by the local conductors, while providing hands-on training in practical project management concepts. Finally, he was responsible with the administrative and financial control of the works, with a total budget of counterpart funds amounting to 250,000 Euro. His presence on site ensured that all parties involved in this rural infrastructure project were being kept updated, the motivation of the locals was on-going and the education infrastructure was well supported in the areas selected.
