The project identification of the
training needs of the Hungarian Banking sector to enable them to provide rural financial
services. The project evaluated sectoral needs, prepared training material, trained
trainers, (9) who subsequently trained 429 trainees (Branch Managers and Loan Officers)
drawn from the 6 participating commercial banks, including the Cooperative Saving Bank.
The Training Manual prepared (in both Hungarian and English) contained a presentation of
the techniques and procedures used by the Agricultural Bank of Greece as well as the
documentation required by the European Investment Bank and the EEC's FEOGA Fund,
particularly Regulations 797/85 and 866/91). Standardised forms covering the whole
spectrum of rural financing including feasibility reports, production plans, appraisal
reports, asset valuation etc. were included as well as guidelines on management
information systems, decision making processes and annual business forecasting. Case
studies for investment projects were also presented. |
