Rotational versus non-rotational set-aside in Greece, study, vis-a-vis the CAP |
Greece |
1993-94 |
|
Study of the consequences of CAP, related with the partial arable land
set-aside schemes on cereals, oil seeds and protein crops production. The set-aside
requirement for the 1993/94 cropping season of 15% for rotational crops was subjected to
an analyses comparing a non-rotational alternative in return for a higher percentage rate.
The objective of the study was to determine the percentage of the non-rotational set-aside
that would provide a level of production equal to that of a given percentage of rotational
set-aside. The approach was determined by the identification and estimation of slippage
effects on rotational and non-rotational basis. The main data sources were the Farm
Structures Survey and the FADN (RICA) data base supported by the results of a survey
carried out in 107 communities spanning three predominantly arable regions.(In Association with the Agricultural University of Athens) |
